Everlast PowerPro 164si Welder/Plasma Cutter Review

The Everlast PowerPro is an ideal choice for people who want an affordable option, and a unit that can provide moderate power to handle a little bit of everything.

This unit is perfect for portable repair businesses, garages, fabrication facilities, and other tasks done on a smaller scale.

It uses advanced technologies to weld or cut diverse types of materials, and also allows you to select different frequency levels for better arc focus. Whether you want it to operate as a TIG, stick (AC or DC), or plasma cutter – it can all be done in one single unit. Here’s our full review.

This plasma cutter is very versatile and can be used for a variety of applications. It is suitable for home workshops, portable repair, automotive garages, and maintenance shops.

For cutting metals, it is recommended to use on steel, aluminum, chrome-moly, and stainless steel. It is also very lightweight, and has a compact design which makes it very portable.

During cutting, the unit will protect itself from dirt and debris. There is a heavy-duty plastic cover on the control panel to protect it from being damaged during use. It can weld 3/16’’ aluminum and 1/4’’ steel in the TIG mode, and can also weld 1/8’’ stick electrodes.

The Everlast PowerPro delivers 60% power amperage which is amazing and enough for performing small scale tasks, especially those at home workshop. There is a 2 position pulse that allows you to switch between two different frequency modes.

The modes are between 1 Hz and 25 Hz to enhance the focus of the arc. The unit offers good capacity when you switch to the TIG pulse feature.

The TIG/stick/Plasma multi-modes are very handy, as they offer different functions in a single unit. It offers 130 amps of power in stick welding mode, and 160 amps of welding power in AC and DC TIG modes.

Apart from this, it also offers dual voltage capacity – that is, you can use either the 110 or 220 voltage capacity!
